We help you arrange a meaningful, respectful funeral honouring your loved one's life — with care, clarity and compassion. At Harris & Steadman we can provide services for traditional funerals, a funeral service with prayers and readings, and a burial or cremation. These services provide a familiar framework, reflecting cultural, religious, and family traditions to honour the deceased and comfort grieving loved ones.
Local crematoriums are The Oaks Havant Crematorium, Portchester Crematorium or Chichester Crematorium. A traditional cremation funeral service includes a ceremony at a crematorium or place of worship, with the coffin present and mourners attending. The service, which can be religious or non-religious, may include readings, music, and tributes, culminating in a committal.
The following services are included:
- Professional services - Taking care of all necessary legal and administrative arrangements
- Bringing into our care within a 20 mile radius 24hrs a day
- Preparation and care of the deceased (including dressing in own clothes if required)
- Private Chapel of Rest
- Use of our quiet lounge area for family gatherings
- Provision of an oak veneered coffin complete with fixtures
- Provision of Funeral Director throughout
- Attendance of Funeral Director and Pall Bearers at the funeral service
- A hearse or other appropriate vehicle

Funeral disbursements are costs to third-party providers, such as cemetery or crematorium fees, celebrant charges, or floral tributes, which a funeral director pays on your behalf and then recharges to you for these additional costs
- Portchester Crematorium Fee (at April 2025) is £900.00
- Funeral officiant (e.g. celebrant, minister of religion etc.) from £220.00
